Sevens rivers run through the city, with a combined total length of 45 kilometres. It has a lush natural environment rich in water and greenery.

Edogawa City covers 49 square kilometres and boasts a population of about 660,000. Its population is growing at approximately 6,000 people each year. The city has a rich variety of cultural activities in the community together with prosperous industry. The citizens of Edogawa participate in nearly 5,000 autonomous cultural and sports associations, an indication of the enthusiastic community and the cultural and sports activities on offer.

Gosford City covers an area of 1,029 square kilometres, with the Tasman Sea to the east, Hawkesbury River to the south, the Judge Dowling range to the west and Cessnock and Wyong Shires create the northern boundary. It has a population of approximately 165,000.

The city’s natural environment includes beaches, waterways, wetlands, national parks, bushland and mountains. Residents enjoy a relaxed lifestyle while still being in close proximity to the City of Sydney.

Gosford-Edogawa Commemorative Garden is a gift from Edogawa to its sister city and is an everlasting symbol of the bonds of friendship between the two cities. The garden’s layout reflects the traditional Japanese strolling gardens which were laid out according to principles of Japanese design dating from 700-1700 AD. For more information visit:
